We are creation

Preserving creation in the traditions of the three monotheistic world religions.

With pictures by the photographer Hans-Günther Kaufmann, in the Gallery of the Guardini Foundation in Berlin.

The photo exhibition approaches the common approaches of the three monotheistic world religions on the topic of "preserving creation". Culturally, there is a common heritage of values that makes people and society responsible for dealing with and preserving the environment. The major future issues of combating climate change and mitigating its consequences can only be understood as a common human project. The exhibition addresses the cross-cultural element of behaving towards the environment and the planet with gratitude, humility and a sense of responsibility. As an artistic medium, it promotes understanding between traditions, religions and peoples. The exhibition reminds us how closely man and his culture are interwoven with his environment. That we humans are the environment, the creation.

The exhibition at COP28 in Dubai

In the Faith Pavilion at the UN World Climate Conference COP28, the exhibition was able to symbolize the common ground of the world's religions for the preservation of creation in digital form.

More about the project

The exhibition is being created in cooperation with the Abraham Accords Institute for Peace and Regional Integration. Founded in 2022 by former Prime Minister Armin Laschet MdB, the Institute is committed to the rapprochement process between Israel and its neighboring Arab states within the framework of the Abraham Accords. The Abraham Accords put an end to over 70 years of enmity, with the signatory states recognizing each other and working towards dialogue and cooperation. An important motivation for regional cooperation is the realization that the region is facing profound human challenges that no country can overcome on its own. In the spirit of the Abraham Accords, the photo exhibition WE ARE CREATION is intended to remind us of our common heritage and the resulting responsibility to prioritize cooperation over confrontation and dialogue over conflict.
