Vision

The Institute seizes the historic opportunity for a lasting Arab-Israeli rapprochement. The Institute supports the Abraham Process through cooperation projects for peaceful coexistence and through dialog and encounter formats in the region, in Germany and Europe.

The Abraham Accords Institute achieves this goal in four fields of activity:

  1. Multiplication work in the political and civil society sphere through inclusive dialog initiatives.

  2. Cooperation projects in the areas of political education, an inclusive approach to Holocaust remembrance culture, art projects and sport.

  3. Promotion of technical and economic cooperation to jointly tackle urgent technological challenges for Germany and the signatory states of the Abraham Accords, particularly in the field of the hydrogen economy.

  4. Support for the scientific monitoring of the Abraham Process at RWTH Aachen University and at the Reconciliation Research Excellence Cluster of the Rheinische-Friedrich-Wilhelmsuniversität Bonn and other universities in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg

  • The Abraham Accords Institute is committed to the vision of neighborly cooperation based on coexistence and dialogue. To this end, it is fundamental to recognize each other's right to exist and to engage with the fundamental national self-image of the respective counterpart.

  • The Abraham Accords Institute is committed to breaking down prejudices and establishing personal contacts in people-to-people projects in culture, politics and business.

  • The Abraham Accords Institute is acting on the conviction that Germany and Europe can make a special contribution to the success of the Abraham Process. Germany maintains close relations with both Israel and the Arab states and enjoys a high level of respect and trust in the region.

  • Germany can therefore play an important mediating role, also due to its special historical obligation to stand up for Israel's security.
